Last Sighting of Navin Shurren Occurred the Evening Before His Body Was Found

A self-employed entrepreneur from Trenance Park, Navin Shurren, 50, was tragically discovered deceased on an embankment along Estuary Drive in Riverview, KwaZulu-Natal.

Authorities found Shurren early Tuesday morning with a fatal gunshot injury to his head. Notably, his white Chevrolet Utility van, bearing the registration CT 96 XT ZN, remains missing.

Fatal Gunshot Injury Confirmed at the Scene

According to Prem Balram, spokesperson for Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers were dispatched promptly after receiving reports of an unresponsive male at approximately 6:22 a.m.

Upon arrival, responders located Shurren lying face down on the embankment, dressed in a cream jacket and navy blue trousers. Medical assessment confirmed he had sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was beyond help.

“He was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head,” Balram confirmed, emphasizing the severity of the injury.

Discovery by Early Commuters

The body was initially found by members of the public on their way to work, who immediately alerted emergency services.

Last Known Movements: Departure from a Petrol Station

Balram revealed that Shurren was last observed the previous night, around 10:28 p.m., leaving a service station. Since then, his cellphone has been unreachable, and his vehicle remains unaccounted for.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death, with some of his personal effects still missing.
